Key Ingredients

Rhassoul Clay

Formed under the Atlas Mountains, the name Rhassoul clay means “the mountains of the washer” in Arabic. It has long been hailed by the women of Morocco as an outstanding skincare ingredient, reputed from its extraordinary ability to deeply cleanse the skin, regenerate it and sooth skin irritations. This exceptional clay has been ethically sourced from fair trade cooperatives in Morocco who support the women that work hard to produce the magical ingredients Morocco has to offer.

Pineapple Powder

Pineapple has been prized for exfoliating properties because it contains bromelain, a powerful enzyme. Bromelain is known to remove dead skin cells, reduce inflammation and delivery soft, smooth skin, making it suitable for those with acne-prone skin. It also contains vitamin C and promotes collage production.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an extremely important component of your skin that brightens it, reduce dark spots as well as hyperpigmentation. It also helps hydrate your skin and keep it looking plump and healthy. The perfect little addition to wake that skin up!

FAQs

It is perfectly normal if your skin experiences redness after using our Dirty Spice clay mask. This is caused by increased blood flow which delivers more oxygen and nutrients to the skin. It should not be painful and should go away within about 30 minutes. That is why if you plan on going out, we won’t argue that Dirt Spice will be your skin’s best friend, but we do recommend you use it at least three hours beforehand. The mask can take between 30 – 40 minutes to dry, and you want to make certain the redness has subsided. If you are able to apply it the night before your event, even better!

Yes, it means all those wonderful ingredients are working hard to rid your pores of all those nasties! Do not worry if your skin experiences a tingling sensation, this is normal. At Saoirse Skincare, I take care to ensure my formulations are suitable for sensitive skin, given that I have always suffered from this myself. So yes, by all means dive right in and get grubby with our Dirty Spice 😉

It can be tricky getting the consistency of the clay mask right, and sometimes, it’s a matter of trial and error. If the mask is too runny, then you will need to ask a bit more clay to thicken the paste. But remember to add a little bit at a time and keep stirring the mixture. Similarly, if the paste is too thick, it will be hard to spread on the skin. Try adding a few drops of water slowly, until it forms a nice fluffy paste.
